With the mission to drive the shift towards sustainable transports, Scania is today a software company focused on Connected, Electrified and Autonomous Vehicles. This shift requires focus on the complete transport system, a wider perspective than the single vehicle. At the Autonomous Transport Solutions department, we develop the autonomous vehicles as well as intelligent transport planning and coordination algorithms. The aim is to make transports of goods and people more efficient by cleverly using autonomous vehicles. Our customers using autonomous vehicles are based all around the world, from heavy trucks in open pit mines in Australia to buses on public roads in Qatar.
We are constantly growing and now need to strengthen team Local Coordination. The position as cloud developer is within the section of Intelligent Transport Systems that is responsible for the cloud services coordinating fleets consisting of autonomous vehicles.

Position within team Local Coordination
The team is responsible for delivering more efficient ways of operating fleets with autonomous vehicles. In order to decrease queueing times, optimize vehicle speed etc, we develop algorithms that coordinate the vehicles in an efficient way to maximize transport flow.
The algorithms are developed using Scala and deployed in a cloud environment used by Scania’s autonomous vehicles and services. Our services are hosted in Amazon Web Services and are developed and operated through a strong team effort and in collaboration with other teams and partners. The team has a clear focus on coordination of vehicles but is always ready to adapt to customer needs and potentially address other problems.
Your profile
We are looking for people who combine software-development skills with an interest in requirements and the way your product is used by a customer. You are a team player and reflect upon how you can contribute to exceptional teamwork. As a person you are curious and dare to try in order to learn. You can help the team break down complex problems in a systematic and structured way. The will to take on the role as Scrum Master for the team is a bonus.
You should have competence in, or a willingness to learn:
• Scala, for backend or full stack cloud development using Amazon Web Services.
• Agile development methodologies, like CI/CD, TDD, SCRUM and other standard modern development methods.
• Efficacy in algorithms and code quality.
• Data-driven design and development.
