Join us on an exciting journey. Starting from zero, the project team is responsible to design, build and launch a full-scale production plant in China.
Scania has taken the strategic decision to set-up a 3rd industrial hub in China and a Södertälje based project to develop and implement full scale production set up have been initiated within Scania Production & Logistics. One part of this project is the establishment of a new Engine Assembly plant that will include processes such as Assembly line, Engine test facilities and a paint shop.
We are now looking for a Project Leader with experience from surface treatment that will lead the establishment of the new paint shop. The engines will be painted in one layer in an automated paint shop that also includes manual operations to prepare the engine for painting and for delivery after painting.
Within the engine assembly master plan you will lead the deliveries of the paint shop establishment and a project group of three co-workers with the task to procure, install and commission the new paint shop. Together with the team you will manage the procurement processes towards suppliers from start the of the project to the equipment take over. The work also includes to continuously plan and follow up investment and project expenses and to educate, develop and support the local organization in China to take over the paint shop.
As our Technical Project Leader, you will be a part of the Engineering Engine Assembly Department that will consist of approximately 30 co-workers. The China project team is a global team, primarily based in Södertälje. However, flexible work location is applied. Business trips abroad and to China occur.

In addition, you have likely:
• a bachelor- or master's degree within engineering
• a couple of years of experience within surface treatment
• experience from project management and/or from managerial positions
Since the corporate & project language is English and you will have many international contacts, it is required that you can confidently express yourself in English, both orally and in writing.
