Kista International School is seeking a qualified, highly motivated Science and Mathematics Head Teacher to lead and develop the school's Science and Mathematics department. The Science department has five purposely-built labs, one large prep room, a teachers work room and a small office.
This key position includes teaching Science and Mathematics to students in grades 6-9 as well as overseeing the teaching of these subjects in the lower and middle grades.

Science in the higher grades is taught in English.
Kista International School (established in the district of Kista) is a new non-profit, independent school, owned by the school's parent association.
It is an F-9 school with English (approximately 50% of the teaching is in English), science, sports and culture profiles.
The school is a truly international school with more than four hundred students speaking forty different languages.
Kista International School's policy of twenty students in a class together with two biligual pedagogues provides the students with a calm, safe and friendly learning environment. In addition, having two bilingual pedagogues in each class ensures that all students are exposed to Swedish and English as soon as they start school.
The prinicipal and deputy principals are all former teachers with teaching experience from private, state and International schools.
Responsibilities
To teach science, technology and mathematics in the higher grades.
Lead the Department of Science and Mathematics by managing the development of teachers in the same department.
Ensure that the teaching of science, technology and mathematics is in line with the school's policy as well as the Swedish school curriculum.
Monitor the quality of teaching and learning to meet the needs of all students
Document student progress and achievement in accordance with school policy.
Report to parents on the student's progress in the subjects of Science, Technology and Mathematics
Ensure all health and safety requirements are in place including risk assessments.
Introduce procedures for behaviour management and anti bullying work and ensure these are documented and evaluated.
Requirements
Qualified teacher
Commitment to safeguarding and anti bullying work
Experience of teaching Science, Technology and Mathematics in grades 6-9.
Able to teach in English.
Excellent ICT skills and experience of using Ipads and smartboards as pedagogical tools.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Capable of setting and achieving ambitious goals and targets
Able to follow and develop the school curriculum
Able to successfully lead and organise a team such as the department of Science and Mathematics and monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching within that team of teachers
Documented experience of effectively monitoring students? progress
Documented experience of managing resources.
Previous management experience.
