Scientific Informatics Specialist

Opportunity for an experienced person in System Development/Support and Scientific Informatics to work within the field of Discovery research in the therapeutic areas of Gastrointestinal- and Cardiovascular Diseases.We offer a temporary position, as a back-fill for one of our Scientific Informaticians/System developers, within Scientific Information Services/Discovery Information in Mölndal, starting December 1, 2008 or at earliest convenient timepoint, until June 30, 2009. Discovery Information's Core Purpose is the development of Information and Knowledge Management products and services to support drug hunting and predictive medicine, to improve speed and quality in R&D, to strengthen the pipeline and deliver valued medicines.Scientific Information Services is a function within Discovery Information working most closely with scientists and experts in the drug hunting projects in Discovery. The role You will be working most closely with a small group supporting biological scientists doing advanced pharmacological experiments using a specific application called Pharmlab.Besides supporting this group and work, you will work with maintenance and support of various other applications. Minimum experience/requirements University degree in natural sciences and/or computer science.Around 3 years of general programming experience, specifically in .NET and preferably in VBA.Biology/medicine knowledge - preferably university studies.Excellent English.Customer focus and service minded.Very good communication and collaborative skills.Preferred experience/requirements Knowledge of and experience in LabWindows CVI.Experience from the drug discovery area regarding research and/or processes.Experience of management/leadership.More information
