The European Spallation Source (ESS) is a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC), a multi-disciplinary research facility based on the world’s most powerful neutron source. The unique capabilities of this new facility will both greatly exceed and complement those of today's leading neutron sources, enabling new opportunities for researchers across the spectrum of scientific discovery, including life sciences, energy, environmental technology, cultural heritage and fundamental physics. 

We are currently seeking a temporary (12months) replacement for a position as Scientific Software Developer at the Data Management and Software Center.The Data Management and Software Centre (DMSC), part of the ESS Science Directorate, is responsible for the design, development and construction of the computer software and hardware to be used for the operation and data analysis of the experiments to be carried out on the neutron scattering and imaging instruments to be constructed at ESS. DMSC performs work at both the ESS offices in Lund, Sweden and at the main DMSC offices in Copenhagen, Denmark.

As part of the Data Systems and Technology group you will play a key part in supporting, designing and setting up the data center that will store the data produced at the facility currently being constructed in Lund.

A successful applicant will:


• have a strong background in computer, technical or natural sciences (Master degree)
• have experience with high performance computing and network
• be fluent in English

Duration & Location
The position is temporary with 12 months duration. Your work place will be situated in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Start date
