What you’ll do
We are currently looking for an analytical/physical chemist to the section for Analytical Technologies within the R&D Downstream Resins department at Cytiva in Uppsala, Sweden. The mission of the section is to support the resin department and other parts of the company with expertise and technologies regarding analysis of resins, product intermediates, raw material and other substances related to the production of the chromatographic process from start to finish.
This position is focused on NMR expertise, including, but not limited to development of qualitative and quantitative methods, method validation, assignment analysis, support to other users of the method and instrument maintenance. Evaluation of big data sets using advanced statistics will also be part of the position as well as performing experiments by other analytical methods within the scope for the section such as different types of spectroscopy, chromatography and titrations.
The main task will be to perform analytical experiments using different NMR methods and supporting others in performing NMR experiments. In this role you will take part in projects for new products and also perform assignments analysis for other departments within the company. This includes planning, performing, analyzing and reporting the studies. Reporting includes technical reports and presentations.
Who you are
PhD or MSc with long experience, within Chemistry/Biochemistry with NMR as main subject
Knowledge and expertise in the other areas within analytical/physical chemistry such as chromatography, spectroscopy, titrations, material science, microscopy, etc.
Quality oriented with an analytical mindset, validation experience
Deep statistical knowledge including evaluation of complex data sets, setting up PCA models etc.
English and /or Swedish as a working language
Excellent computer skills and ability to work in both general and internal systems
A flexible, accurate and structured way of working
Goal oriented team player
