About the role
We are looking for a Scientist focusing on method and applications development for Biacore systems, working with NPI development, technical support and Market Support activities. The role is within the Applications & Consumables section of the Downstream Systems department, R&D in Uppsala.
The Downstream Systems department develops instrument systems and consumables for protein analysis and liquid chromatography. Within the department we have many competences such as applications, chemistry, mechanics, electronics, optics and system engineering, and we are situated in Uppsala and Umeå. The development is driven in cross-functional, global project teams where we create products for the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry.
The responsibilities for this position include development of novel methods and applications, handbooks, training material, instructions for use, requirement specifications, as well as the development of the products. The Applications & Consumables section also provides technical support and Market Support activities, such as event support, sales support, trainings, marketing material and customer collaborations.
The position includes participation in NPI projects; develop applications and methodology, writing requirement specifications, develop product concepts, supporting system verification and validation, and supporting software and hardware development. The work is organized around teams, and agile methodologies, such as scrum, are applied.
The position also involves providing technical and scientific support to Sales and Marketing functions with focus on Biacore systems, such as customer collaborations, strategic customer relations, event support (e.g. participation at conferences and user days), and development of application related marketing material (e.g. Application notes, presentations, and posters).

Who you are
Considerable knowledge and experience of biophysical and/or biochemical applications within protein analysis
Strong knowledge with protein interaction analysis
Considerable knowledge and experience using Biacore systems
Experience from work in multidisciplinary environments
PhD (or equivalent experience) from relevant life science discipline
Experience of analytical lab work and trouble shooting
Proven ability of planning, executing and evaluating analytical experiments
Very good communication skills (both written and spoken), including presentation skills
Strong interest and skills in laboratory work
Strong external focus/customer-oriented approach
Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Swedish language skills are desired
