We are looking for a Scientist/Sr Research Engineer focusing on ÄKTA systems to work within our R&D Applications & Consumables team. Do you have a passion for development of new products and applications supporting basic research, drug discovery, QC and more? Then we would love to hear from you!
The Downstream Systems department develops instrument systems for liquid chromatography used for protein purification, as well as other devices, applications and software to support the customer workflows in the Bioprocess area. Within the department we have many competences such as mechanics, electronics, software and application and we are situated in Uppsala and Umeå. The development is driven in cross-functional, global project teams where we create products for the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry. The department is divided into sections and is responsible for research and development of hardware and system specific consumables for ÄKTA and Biacore systems.
What you’ll do
Participate in ÄKTA system development projects
Support development of applications and methodology
Develop product concepts, user- and system requirements
Run applications and perform system verification and validation
Perform studies of development and/or market support character
Support software and hardware development
Provide technical and scientific support to Sales and Marketing functions
Development of application related marketing material (e.g. Application notes, presentations, and posters)
Who you are
Considerable knowledge and experience of biophysical and/or biochemical applications focusing on chromatography and purification
Strong knowledge using ÄKTA systems and consumables
Experience from work in multidisciplinary environments
PhD or equivalent from relevant life science discipline
Proven ability of planning, executing and evaluating analytical experiments
Very good communication skills (both written and spoken), including presentation skills
Strong interest and skills in laboratory work
Strong external focus/customer-oriented approach
Fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
