We are looking for a Scientist to join the Research Application and Bioanalytics section in the Start-to-Finish department at R&D in Uppsala. The section is made up by 15 Scientists that are working in the areas of protein purification and bioanalysis/biophysics of biomolecules, working internally within the department and with projects close to the customers.
What You'll Do:
As a Scientist in Biophysics, you will be a member of a team performing and coordinating the biophysical/bioanalytical activities within different projects in R&D.
The work is focused on conducting independent scientific analytical work in various projects working with bioanalysis of for ex antibodies and recombinant proteins. This includes being involved in method development and method transfer/training within R&D, maintaining instrumentation, creating standard operating procedures and interaction and support with QC.
We work with translational biophysics with a need of deep understanding of proteins and it is important that the you, in addition to technical expertise, have a good understanding of protein science and a proven ability to combine the two to solve problems via the design and adaptation of biophysical experiments.
Who you are:
You have a PhD in biophysics/bioanalysis or similar with good knowledge in biophysical analysis techniques such as Biacore, Mass spectrometry and UPLC and Thermal stability methods. Additional experience of Immunoassay and Microarray technology work is advantageous.
The candidate should also have experience of assay development and method validation and preferably experience in working with protein characterization in downstream processing in an industrial environment.
Interaction and communication with colleagues in this role are key and you should enjoy working in a flexible environment and have demonstrated abilities to work in a collaborative and customer focused environment.
Strong presentation and communications skills as well as advanced English and Swedish skills (oral and writing) are also required.
