The main focus for the Research department in Galderma Uppsala is to provide concepts for new biomaterials, mainly gel material based on polysaccharides. We are now looking for an experienced Scientist, with focus on LC-MS. This is a permanent position and you will report to Manager Analytical Chemistry within Research.

We work in close collaboration with colleagues at Nestlé Skin Health Research in Sophia-Antipolis, France; the world's largest R&D center specialized in dermatology.

About the Role

As a Scientist, you represent the Research department as an expert in your field and contribute with your expertise in projects as well as other analytical characterization activities.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Act as the primary MS/LC-MS expert in the Research department
* Identify, develop and apply adequate MS/LC-MS methods to match specific analytical characterization needs
* Compile and conclude on data, and present results at project meetings as well as to Research management
* Write and review scientific reports
* Collaborate with colleagues from R&D in Sophia-Antipolis as well as external contacts when required

About You 
* You have a Ph.D. in chemistry (or equivalent), preferably analytical and/or organic chemistry with emphasis on structural characterization
* You have a strong documented background in theory and practice of LC-MS, especially MS/MS methods
* If you also bring experience of analyses in the field of carbohydrates, polysaccharides and hydrogels it is a strong merit
* Experience in the maintenance of LC-MS equipment as well as experience from an industrial environment are merits
* You are a skilled writer and have experience of writing scientific reports or documents and of making oral presentations.
* You possess good communication skills; fluency in Swedish and English, both verbal and written, is required.
* Working in our Research projects requires that you reliably deliver to project goals with high quality, on time. To achieve this, you need to be highly motivated, structured and able to manage tasks simultaneously with a strong delivery focus.
* As you will be working in close collaboration with people in the group and in projects, you should be open-minded, willing to adapt to changes and enjoy working with others in a collaborative way
