Our Gene Editing Technologies Team in Gothenburg, Sweden focuses on Genome Medicine Programs for Rare Diseases. We are now seeking several passionate experienced Scientists at various career levels to join our efforts.
We continually push the boundaries of science to deliver medicines that treat diseases across our main therapy areas. Through our integration with Alexion, this now includes expanding the limits of scientific research to better understand rare diseases and to discover new life-changing treatments for them.
This is us: As a member of our Genome Editing Department, you will join an international group of energetic researchers of various backgrounds who are excited about science and challenge its dogmas. Our work focuses on basic yet translational research that is designed to reach the clinics. Especially, we are passionate about modifying genomes at will for therapeutic purposes. We create a supportive and inclusive environment, and a fun atmosphere for everyone independent of their preferences, experiences and beliefs.
What will you do:
In these laboratory-based roles, you will design, implement and interpret experiments essential in the Therapeutic Genome Editing projects, for example:
* Apply proprietary Gene Editing Technologies and analyze their performance.
* Engineer models of rare diseases in cell culture system.
* Design, develop and optimize molecular and cell-based assays.
Additional accountabilities:
* Collaborate with other scientists to invent and implement new Genome Editing technologies.
* Provide advice and mentorship to junior scientists.
Essential in the role:
* PhD degree (ideally in molecular/cell biology or genetics, but not restricted to) and a professional experience.
* Broad, multidisciplinary laboratory experience and meticulous scientific knowledge.
* Ability to think critically and to solve tasks independently.
