We are looking for a Scientist/Senior Research Engineer to our R&D department in Uppsala.
What You'll Do
You will, as part of R&D, contribute to the development of new products which are used in the manufacturing of leading biological drugs. Your tasks will include work all the way from idea generation, research and development work and finally transfer to production scale. You will also take active part in trouble shooting of existing Cytiva and customer processes.
The Uppsala Cytiva site is a workplace for more than 1300 people including functions as R&D, manufacturing, marketing, quality control and QA. Cross-functional activities in collaboration with other units will represent an important part of work responsibilities.
More specifically will your tasks include:
Development of new platforms for separation of biomolecules
Perform experimental work within the area of surface chemistry/emulsification/primary characterisation
Independently plan and accomplish given tasks from Project Manager or Section Manager, to reach given project objectives
Independently solve problems of "troubleshooting character" in project work
Document and report results both orally and written
To conduct all tasks within the framework of Cytiva policies and guidelines

Who you are
PhD or equivalent in polymer/surface chemistry or equal experience in related fields
3-5 years experience of laboratory work and enjoying spending time in the lab
Delivery focus
Structured and organised team player
Creative and problem solver
Strong communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
English and Swedish as working languages
Experience of work with poly saccharides and hands-on experience from process development and manufacturing is desirable.
