Arbetsbeskrivning

Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

What your new colleagues do.
We imagine that our friends, families, and children are transported in a personal, sustainable and safe way. What we build is a self-driving, fully electric, connected, and super safe Volvo Car. But the current platform makes it impossible for us to have the control that we need to succeed. The overall technical threshold is that the +140 electric components in the car do not communicate in the way that we want it to.

Therefore, we build a new platform. The heart of the platform will be a core computer with the capacity to carry a vast majority of electric control units and applications- a vehicle control unit. In our part of the R&D we code the base software on the computer to refine computational power and to enable successful integration with applications. The future vehicle with a core computer-in-the-car-architecture- will enable advanced connectivity, machine learning and autonomous drive. But we are not yet there.

What you will do.
This is a computer built into the Volvo Car that will transport ourselves and our families around.
Quality code is therefore fundamental for us, and which is why we are looking forward to welcoming a new colleague with responsibility for:
* Support the teams to embrace, adopt and apply agile principles and practices.
* Facilitate the team’s progress toward team goals by focusing on improving performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow and velocity as well as staying focused on the team’s iteration goals.
* Facilitate team meetings like the daily stand-up, iteration planning, review and retrospective.
* Support the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog with respect to priorities and scope.

Who are you?
We expect that you are a holder of a university degree within Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar. We also believe you have experience from working in the test area in a modern software development environment.

Personally, you act as coaches to the rest of the team. You are an excellent networker and surely cross-functional with great communication skills. You will need to have a basic understanding of requirement handling and an interest to work with, and learn how to, prove that our product meets safety standards and reliability requirements.
Experience within Automotive and from working in an international environment is meritorious.
You are fluent in spoken and written English
