Scrum Master/ Project Manager

Arbetsbeskrivning

There is a form within jazz music called ”free jazz”. If you are familiar with it, you know that it is minimally influenced by formal boundaries, with every musician doing their own thing. Sounds like chaos, right? But it works, it's beautiful. Sometimes going to work as a Scrum master for Skymill can seem a bit like free jazz. You are surrounded by talented people: technical and non technical teams, clients, co-workers, project members etc, often ”doing their own thing” and you must be the leader that brings them all together to create that beauty. Sounds interesting?

What you will be doing

As a Scrum Master within our Skymill ensemble, you will have an overall responsibility of execution processes needed by our clients. Everything from planning to implementation and monitoring. Sometimes you also have to be that coaching leader that puts the team straight by being a role model who excels in communication. You have to be the hub between internal and external stakeholders, always using your excellent communication and coordination skills to make sure the project reaches its milestones and goals.

For every musician to play at their best you must act as a tactical sounding board for every stakeholder associated with the project. This means that you have to be able to put yourself in the shoes of every project member, owner, target group as well as internal and external stakeholders.

Since you will be the leader of this free jazz band, you decide when to throw in more saxophone, when to remove some of the drums etc. etc. (in other words you are the person identifying and handling resource needs and requirements). Completing the project and reaching its goals combining the efforts of you and your team is your main priority.

Skills

To be successful in this role you need to love the idea behind free jazz and be able to apply this to the field of project management within the IT sector. Other than this we also think that you need to be able to check a few, but not necessarily all the boxes below:

Must have

- A few years of experience of working as a Scrum master, alternatively using any other agile framework, within the IT sector, mainly aimed towards software development and/or DevOps/Infrastructure.

- Excellent communications skills in both English and Swedish

- General technical knowledge of software development

- Leadership qualities (can’t be stressed enough). The ability to get very differentiated teams to work together towards a common goal is crucial

Nice to have:

- Previous experience from working as a software developer

- Previous experience of working as a consultant

- Scrum Master certifications

What we offer you:

To show our appreciation, we will put together a sweet deal for you. Apart from working with one of the fastest growing, most flexible companies in the region, you will get a competitive salary and pension package, as well as 30 days paid vacation from the get go. An employment at Skymill will also enable you to tap into not only one, but three different bonus programs (more details given at your interview).

You will be working alongside lots of smart and talented developers and project managers with extensive experience from the industry, each being a master of their own instrument. To our mid-level project managers, we offer work-based mentorship from one of our more senior consultants, who will actively support you for as long as you feel the need for it. For our senior managers we offer personal and professional development through the same mentorship program, as well as possibilities to develop through certifications and external courses.

We realize that jazz isn't all about work, which is why we arrange regular AWs and other exciting team building events. So, if you are up for the challenge of working differently in fun projects for truly interesting clients (we will be more specific later on in the recruitment process, promise), then come jam with us.
