We are now looking for a Scrum Master with a genuine interest in traffic safety for the teams Active Safety Integration and Driver Behavior at Volvo Cars Safety Centre. At Volvo Cars Safety Centre, 170 highly skilled professionals strive every day to make the world a safer place for car drivers and everyone else on the road. We are proud of our track record including numerous world's firsts, all based on real world research and knowledge: exemplified by the safety belt (1959), SIPS (1991), WHIPS (1998), City Safety (2008), Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto brake (2010), and Run off Road protection (2015). 

Our future challenges and opportunities are exciting and through advanced technology and research we are developing safety with regards to injury prevention and collision avoidance, in addition to areas like Autonomous Drive, HMI, emotional safety and driver behavior - all based on real life situations.

What you’ll do 
As a Scrum Master you will be a servant leader to support the team and the agile way of working. You will facilitate the team’s empowerment and progress towards team goals, and continuously engage in challenging the norms of development to improve performance in the areas of quality, flow, and velocity. You will help the team focus on daily and iteration goals in the context of current Program Increment (PI) Objectives. You will lead the team’s effort in relentless improvement and be a key player to create and maintain a high-performing team. You will support to educate the team in Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, ensuring that the agreed Agile process is being followed.

You will together with the Product Owner (PO) and Team Manager (TM) create a strong trio with the mission to secure that the teams have the prerequisites needed to create and spread knowledge required for Volvo Cars to keep our leading position within safety. 

You and your skills
You have a university degree within a relevant field and a profound interest in vehicle safety. You are experienced within agile development and have good understanding of agile work methods, as well as experience from coaching teams. You also have experience from AD/ADAS development. As we are a global team you will need to have excellent English skills, both verbal and in writing.

On a personal level, you first and foremost share our genuine interest in traffic and vehicle safety. You like to have a position where you provide direction and work to remove obstacles for the team which enables work and helps the team to deliver. You see a fun challenge in creating an optimized work process and focus on continuous improvements to find a more efficient way to get things done. You are leading with the aim to create the best collaboration within and between teams. While being a servant leader for the team you should have a consistent focus on your own development to maintain in-depth safety and work process knowledge over time.
