Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.
Our group is a part of Sales & Service IT delivery and supports the areas for Warranty and Parts Pricing. In the portfolio, we have over twelve applications with a mix of bought systems and systems developed at Scania. In line with our strategy at Scania we have started our journey towards modern technology such as AWS, API, etc. We are today 14 people in the group with a mix of scrum masters, developers, solution architects etc. One of our scrum masters is now moving on within Scania so we need to find a replacement for her.
Right now we have started an exciting journey to replace our current Oracle-based system for warranty claims with a new solution build with modern technology. This solution, project name Queri, will be built from scratch using Java as the language for developing microservices and moderns technology for integration such as API and Kafka. Building this solution is a step to get a much more flexible solution in line with Scanias strategy. You will be an important part of this work and lead the team to excellent achievements.
Your responsibility
We want you to act as both a scrum master and developer in the team. As a scrum master you will have the usual scrum master responsibilities, supporting and coaching the team in the agile mindset, work closely to our business and other project members etc . Apart from the standard responsibilities, you are quite free to shape the role according to the needs you find.
As a developer, you will work together with the rest of the DevOps team developing in AWS using Java.
Apart from the Queri project, we have two smaller applications that you as a scrum master will handle as well. One is a bought .Net application where we have an external company doing the development and the other is a Java application developed within our team.
Your profile
We believe that you are a senior developer with more than 5 years of well-documented experience from Java, AWS/Cloud, API-design, etc. You have good knowledge developing in AWS and a good understanding of different configuration management tools, branching and merging concepts (plus for Gitlab). If you have full stack experience it is a plus but focus is on back-end development. It is valuable to us if you already have been on a journey of migrating a monolithic system to a microservice cloud environment. You also have experience with agile way of working and would like to continue to develop yourself, the team and our business in agile methods, etc.
You are a great servant leader with excellent social skills who coach and motivate the team to grow and deliver with high standards. We work closely with our business and you want to develop that further and make sure that we meet the needs and requirements that they have. The team that will help you achieve this are distributed globally so you value to work with a diversified team with people from different background, language, culture etc.
