Searching for a Sonographer or ultrasound midwife

The candidate will be able to independently produce high quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in an efficient and timely manner. Follows all outlined department protocols while ensuring patient safety, comfort and confidentiality. Proficient in the use of the ultrasound equipment. Competent in the use of all relevant computer systems.
· Selects appropriate equipment and transducer for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications.
· Explains the test to the patient. Instructs and assists the patient in positioning for the examination.
· Enters test data and patient information into computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of test results.
· Exercise independent judgment to tailor examination to acquire anatomic and pathophysiological data relative to patient’s clinical presentation.
· Produces images of internal organs and ensures data gets stored.
· Perform calculations of exam data to determine physiologic parameters such as blood flow velocity, spectral analysis, color Doppler flow analysis, as well as embryonic/fetal development, gestational age, and fetal hemodynamics.
· Independently perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound examinations. This includes abdominal, gynecological, obstetrical, small parts, and intraoperative ultrasounds.
