Role Overview

The Section Lead of Structures Stress reports to the Head of Structures & Interiors and has broad responsibility for the design of the entire airframe. You will lead a multi-functional design team, covering all structural design.

You will be responsible for providing technical leadership of the stress team. You will be responsible for the analysis, test, certification and support of the aircraft airframe, Interiors, and its structural systems within the ES-19 program. This position is also responsible to define the certification program for structures. As a team leader, you will also assist with organizing and hiring the structures stress team.

You will also represent as required the stress department at program/technical reviews as well as customers/supplier meetings, ensuring the engineering definition meets all stakeholder requirements. You will also ensure adherence to all engineering processes/standards, and participate in design reviews to meet certification, cost, schedule and manufacturability goals.
Qualifications & Experience

Graduate degree in aerospace, aeronautical similar discipline, or equivalent experience.

Minimum 10 years experience in an engineering leadership position within an aerospace OEM company environment, including the conceptual and preliminary design phase.

Experience with aircraft development programs through the entire design, development & certification lifecycle (EASA/FAA Part 23 or 25).

Experience working in an EASA Part 21J Design Organization, or international equivalent.

Direct experience with the role of the Head of Structures within an approved design organization.

Proficiency in Static, fatigue, and damage tolerances analysis as well as finite element models.

Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English.

The ideal candidate would have

Experience working in an aerospace start-up environment.

Significant aircraft conceptual and preliminary design experience on a CS-23 or regional aircraft program at a leading OEM or start-up.

Proficiency coordinating activities of engineers in partner supplier companies.

-
Experience in CAM.

-
Working knowledge of FEM.
