Section Manager Environmental Engineering

Your role

As a section manager you will manage and allocate assignments, evolve the employees and competences within the section, and ensure efficient ways of working within the area of responsibility.

The work in the section is carried out both in projects and within the line organization.



You will be a part of the Vehicle System management team and you will be expected to participate in the development of the department as well as your own section.

Preferred skills:



· An academic degree in engineering (or equivalent experience)

· Good English skills due to the fact that we have work with international cooperation



If you have experience of leadership from roles such as project manager, team leader or line manager, this will be considered an advantage. In general, we will attach great importance to your personal characteristics.



To be successful in your role you have to be good at building relations. You understand the need to communicate, initiate and handle changes. You can provide a strong personal leadership with patience, adjustability and decisiveness.



The position as Environmental engineering section manager includes work with classified defence information, hence it is required that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.

What you will be a part of

The Vehicle Systems department is organized within Research and Development at Business

Area Aeronautics and consists of approximately 200 employees. You will be the line manager of the Environmental engineering section.



The Vehicle Systems department is responsible for development of the vehicle systems in all products within Aeronautics. The vehicle systems include for example the fuel system, the landing gear & hydraulic systems, the electrical power system and the escape & oxygen systems.



The Environmental engineering section works with all Aeronautics products, but the main focus areas are Gripen CD/EF and T-X systems. Responsibilities include environmental engineering for all integrated systems, equipment and external stores as well as their installation in the aircrafts. The section carries out analyses and calculations within mechanical, thermal, and climatic environments as well as thermodynamic analyses.



Today, the Environmental engineering section consists of approximately 30 engineers with a mixed distribution in gender, age and experiences.
