Role Summary/Purpose
The Section Manager will work effectively as a member of the BioProcess R&D Upstream & Consumables Department Management Group and will drive strategic and day to day operational issues regarding the sections responsibility areas.
Essential Responsibilities
The section consists of approximately 15 persons working with product development and research around microcarriers, cell culture media and cell line development, as well as with market support in the upstream area mainly focused on upstream viral vaccine process development.
Management of personnel, resources and activities within the section in order to fulfill project and department goals
The management of line activities for the section, including recruitment, training, development, motivation and leadership of staff in order to deliver all agreed project objectives and to achieve scientific excellence
To ensure that staff have the necessary competencies and are organized to maximize impact on the projects
Provision of technical support to the Sales and Marketing functions for products and platforms in commercial/operating environments.

Qualifications/Requirements
At least MSc or equivalent in biochemistry or biotechnology or similar experience
Experience from minimum some years of industrial development/R&D
Strong leadership skills
Experience in personnel management and team building
Structured and organised team player
Strong communication skills
Experience in cell culture
Fluent in English and Swedish both verbally and in writing
Desired Characteristics
Experience from cell culture development in the Bioprocess industry as well as cell culture research activities
Experience as line manager in personnel management and team building
Experience as project manager
Experience from working with global teams
