Security Director Operations & Regulatory
Mission and context
The position will focus on ensuring that Volvo Group Security operates within the law and governing regulations at all times, offering counsel on legal issues and facilitating business strategies development. You will provide advise on a wide range of regulatory and corporate legal matters, including but not limited to Group-wide security investigations, crisis management, information security safety and supply chain security.
The incumbent will also act as back-up for the Protective Security Director and the Security Director Investigations & Intelligence.
You will be closely working together with senior leaders from Volvo Group Security, Group Legal & Compliance, IT, Human Resources and various business units to provide assurance and limit risk exposure.
The successful candidate reports directly to the Senior Vice President Group Security.
Main Responsibilities
Provide advice on security investigations, particular on legal matters and on communicating with authorities and law enforcement
Provide guidance in crisis situations, including legal advice on possible mitigating actions and activitites, how to address longer-term legal concerns and to communicate appropriately
Review practices to ensure compliance with supply chain security, and adherence to e.g., C-TPAT, EU Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), and various other internal & external regulatory requirements
Strong knowledge of industrial security-related standards such as EU SEVESO (III) Directives
Draft, proofread and revise reports, directives and policies that have Group-wide impact
Provide guidance on day-to-day legal matters to Group Security´s operational teams
Stay up-to-date with new security regulations impacting Volvo Group
Support Group Security´s investigation functions to ensure a high quality in investigations
Support highly sensitive and complex investigations
When needed support the Regional Security Directors
Requirements and Qualifications
Degree in law (must have passed the national judicial exam)
Solid background in law enforcement
7+ years of professional Legal & Security experience
Experience as an investigator within law enforcement is highly preferred
Experience in conducting and overseeing complex investigations is required.
Experienced in threat assessments
Proven track record managing multiple complex investigations simultaneously, and focusing on critical priorities with little or no supervision

The incumbent will participate in campaigns with law enforcement and industry bodies to improve public sector agencies’ response to crime. Access to public enforcement communities - at a national level is challenging by the nature of the work. Therefore the job holder must be a highly credible and experienced professional in order to engage these communities and successfully articulate and win proper support for the Company’s position and expectations
The position holder require knowledge about different cultures, practices and procedures in the countries
Professional and documented experience to build security program that will be clearly recognized as a good pragmatic operation
Demonstrate ability to manage outsourced operations
