Embassy Security Officer
A vacancy for a British national will arise within the Security Team of the British Embassy in April/May 2006.
Work in the Security Section of the Embassy covers all aspects of technical and physical security.
The work for the position involves:
" Regular security patrols;
" Following strict security procedures under guidance of Senior Security Officer;
" Some Health and Safety issues;
" Working with an extensive CCTV /IT programme;
" Some security project work;
" Some regular on call duties
" Security briefing staff
Essential Skills and Experience
" Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently - taking responsibility under light supervision.
" Communication skills which will include good written and spoken English and good spoken Swedish.
" Some good general technical experience/knowledge (IT/CCTV/locks);
" Good organisational skills and an ability to prioritise tasks - often under pressure.
" Positive attitude, flexibility, an ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast moving working environment.
" Good IT skills.
" Aptitude for providing a customer driven service.
" Ability to deal with customers from diverse backgrounds.
Highly desirable
Previous security or military service.
Driving license.
This is a full time permanent position involving some shift work and occasional overtime. Starting salary will be SEK 14,000. As an employee of a Diplomatic Mission, salary is not subject to income tax, although this will change on 1 January 2007. (Salaries will be grossed up to take account of this change in law).
