THE OPPORTUNITY:
As part of Newrest development in Scandinavia, Newrest is recruiting a Senior accountant based in Stockholm. You want to be a part of a large international Group 95% owned by its managers and you are keen to work on one of the Group's major inflight project? Join us!
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the CFO of Scandinavia and be responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly accounting processes including but not limited to reviewing weekly invoices, preparation of weekly operating statement and monthly financial statements, general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations and provide backup and support to the other accounting team members. The work involves data entry, maintenance of various account records, and routine problem-solving.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
· Coordinate day-to-day general ledger activities, including preparing and posting daily/monthly journal entries while maintaining proper supporting schedules, documentation and appropriate levels of approval
· Perform month and year-end responsibilities, and support special projects
· Take part in the continuous development of processes as Newrest expand
· Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balance
· Manage monthly standard tax declarations
· Control the cost budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
· Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and review with the CFO
PROFILE:
· Newrest is looking for ambitious people with a passion for a fast-paced international working environment
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Similar
· Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting field required
· Experience from working with month-end closing tasks independently, able to manage/plan the allocated tasks in an independent way
· Working proficiency and communication skills in English and Swedish. Other European languages are a plus
· Willingness to have a diverse set of tasks and responsibilities
