Volvo Cars is one of the most well-known and respected car brands in the world. Northvolt is a leading supplier of sustainable, high-quality battery cells and systems, dedicated to delivering the world’s greenest lithium-ion battery.
Together, we have formed a joint venture, NOVO Energy, to power the next generation of pure electric Volvo and Polestar cars.
We are now building a state-of-the-art Gigafactory in Gothenburg that will be one of the largest cell production facilities in Europe, with a potential annual cell production capacity of up to 50 gigawatt hours (GWh) – thereby enabling a supply of batteries for approximately half a million Volvo and Polestar cars per year. Our state-of-the-art R&D facility will gather leading expertise from all over the world, to create the next generation battery cells.
A key role in our growing finance team
We are now looking for an Expert Accountant to join our finance team at Lindholmen in Gothenburg. Joining us at this critical moment, you will play a key role in the finance team and in helping us develop our future finance organization, act as a speaking partner on matters related to accounting and reporting and establishing foundational frameworks and best practices from scratch.
We’re on a rapid growth trajectory and having just started, we’re all hands-on-deck to manage the finance needs of complex, capital intense manufacturing business. Whilst we’re looking for an Expert level accountant to help us grow, you will initially be responsible for managing daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, account reconciliations, salary and tax activities and other day-to-day accounting activities.
You will similarly be responsible for project and CAPEX accounting, fixed assets and involved in the month-end closing process including, monthly, quarterly and year financial closing. You will also be a part of preparing both legal financial statements in accordance with Swedish GAAP (K3) and group financial statements in accordance with IFRS requirements.
Your skills and expertise
You have an academic degree within Finance or Accounting with extended accounting and consolidation experience, and still a genuine interest in the field. You are experienced working with complex accounting questions in accordance with Swedish GAAP and IFRS. If you have experience working in Dynamics D365 F&O it would be advantageous.
Personal qualities such as high integrity and the ability to uphold standards of professionalism and confidentiality are highly valued. Flexibility and the ability to handle short notice situations and the ability to take the initiative in ambiguous circumstances will be important to your success. Since you will be member of a team and a key contact person, working well with others is a key factor. Business language within the NOVO Energy is English.
