Senior Accountant - Utility

Born out of the belief that solar is the most powerful solution to fixing the planet’s problems it has been our goal to make renewable energy an easy and profitable investment. We are, in short, tomorrow’s energy company.

Due to our rapid expansion we are now looking for a Senior Accountant to be responsible for the accounting of our Utility department. Maybe you’re wondering, what’s utility? Our utility department is responsible for the development, construction and operation of large solar parks. Pretty cool right? A business with multiple legal entities in different countries. Sounds like a fun challenge? You bet!

Role
You will be part of a team of 15 finance professionals within accounting, business control and treasury based in Stockholm and you’ll work closest to our Group Accountant and report to our Head of Accounting. Due to our global (hyper!)growth we are also setting up finance functions in our local markets, currently Germany, Spain, Belgium and Netherlands with many more to come!

But what should I actually do?” Well, here’s a good old bulletpoint list of what we believe will be the main scope. But hey, since we are growing there’s plenty of room to take on more responsibility over time.

- Monthly, quarterly- and annual closings for our Swedish Utility units
- Day-to-day accounting, tax, VAT and reconciliations
- Develop routines and processes within accounting and ERP to make us more scalable
- Contact with- and coordinate accountancy firms in local markets
- Point of contact with auditors
- Other ad-hoc projects that might arise at a fast paced finance department

With that said, we believe there are some things needed to be able to succeed in this role:

- Several years of experience from qualified accounting and/or financial controlling
- Have been in a large company (maybe asset heavy?) operating internationally
- Would be a huge plus (but not a must) if you’ve done project accounting before, preferably within the real estate or energy sector
- Experience from (and love to) shaping and developing new routines and procedures
- A true interest in working with and improving ERP-processes (Business Central would be a true merit)
