ART Painted Body (department) within Vehicle Platform, is responsible for the development of body structures and surface treatment systems for all Volvo cars. Development work is mainly conducted within the department and in close corporation with Manufacturing, Design, suppliers and external partners.

Who are we
Within the Surface Treatment area, we are divided into three groups;
Surface Products, Corrosion Protection and Coating Systems. Our technical expertise consists of body adhesives, sealing materials, sound damping, pre-treatment, corrosion protection and exterior paint systems. We are also responsible for the attribute Paint & Finish.
Surface Treatment Centre is our global analysis and verification centre for Surface Treatment materials within Volvo Car Group. We work with all from car body analysis with focus on corrosion to complete vehicle exterior colour matching. We also support running production with analyses when disturbances occur and often participate in international and national research projects.
What you’ll do
In this role as Senior Analysis Engineer, you will belong to the group Corrosion Protection and the Team Corrosion Protection Body & Closures. Your main responsibilities will be planning, performing and reporting analyses and tests on different types of metal substrates and coating systems.
As part of our great team, you get access to long term development opportunities in the challenging and exciting area of surface treatment and paint. Your daily work is quality focused. You will lead advanced engineering assignments focusing on pre-treatment, such as thin film, and electrocoat.
The role also includes the development and maintenance of the methods we use, as well as be part of material development projects.
You and Your skills
We believe you have a university degree in engineering, preferably in Chemistry or Material Science or equivalent, with at least 8-10 years of experience within the surface treatment area including test and verification in a lab environment. Masters degree would be an added advantage for this role.
To succeed in this role you need to be analytical, structured and like to continuously improve current working processes. As a person, you work with a high level of engagement and a strong enthusiasm, you thrive in a team environment and work well with others. You have the ability to gather and guide people towards a common goal. Competence and experience are important, but personality and potential are key. The main communication language within Volvo is English, meaning your English is fluent both when it comes to writing and speaking.
