What we offer
In the Contamination team, one of our aims are to make sure that your car works as intended, regardless of all weather and road conditions. To ensure this we analyze the customer need and translates it into design guidelines and requirements as a first step. We are also a part of the design process and the complete vehicle verification in the end.
You will be part of an agile team working with all vehicle programs and development phases. As an experienced CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) engineer you will collaborate with design, other attributes and system responsible teams to give technical input for the different vehicle programs. You will also have a large responsibility for the development and maintenance of the methods we use.
What you’ll do
You will work within the Robustness team at Contamination performing simulations for development and verification on a Complete Vehicle level. You will work with the whole spectrum of CAE analysis, CAD preparation, pre-processing, simulation and post-processing, both within projects as well as within method development when needed. You will take responsibility and follow up your results and give design input based on them.
For this position you will need to work from the office in our R&D office in Torslanda, to be able to interact and cooperate with the team in an efficient way.
You and your skills
You have extensive knowledge in the Fluid dynamics area, preferably with regards to multiphase flow and exterior contamination. You have a M.Sc. from a relevant area and an all-round understanding of the automotive development process and of automotive design and engineering principles. Experience from physical testing, Python programming and CAE tools such as Star CCM+ and PreonLab is meritorious. The main communication language within Volvo is English, meaning your English is fluent both when it comes to writing and speaking.
