Powertrain NVH and Sound Quality, Senior Analysis Engineer

The section Powertrain NVH & Sound Quality is part of the NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) competence centre within Research & Development at Volvo Car Group. The NVH Centre has the responsibility to ensure that the attribute Noise and Vibration is supported in the vehicle programmes, both in terms of customer and legal requirements. Within PT NVH & SQ we have the NVH responsibility for the engine, ICE and EPS, and driveline and their integration in the vehicle. The team works integrated in all project phases, from AE to vehicle/engine production start, and with field and quality issues, contributing with analysis and guidelines to improve the NVH attribute in our cars. We work with testing and analysis of engines, e-motors, transmissions, drivelines and their integration in the complete vehicle where the effect on car occupants is evaluated. PT NVH & SQ works with state-of-the-art equipment, engine and chassis dynamometers. We have extensive communication with other internal design areas, suppliers and our development centre in Shanghai.

As a Senior Analysis Engineer NVH you will be a part of the team to strengthen the deliverables and development of the next generation of engines, drivelines and vehicles. Some of your responsibilities will be to lead NVH assignments, of course dependent on your experience and knowledge, and participate in the development of improved or new methods and guidelines.

Main responsibilities

* Perform NVH testing and analyses
* Participate in car program teams and communicate analysis results and guide the design work from an NVH perspective
* Participate in the requirement setting of the NVH attribute at system level
* Participate in the development of improved or new methods and guidelines
* Participate in implementation of solutions in the vehicle/engine/driveline

Required qualifications

* Minimum M.Sc. Engineer or equivalent work experience
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Competent in structural dynamics and/or vehicle acoustics
* Knowledge of Müller-BBM PAK, Head Artemis, LMS, Matlab and MS Office
