Senior Android developer - Electrification

What you’ll do
As a developer in one of our teams you will work with helping our users drive and charge their car in the most optimal and sustainable way. You will work with discovery and delivery of mobile application experiences in an empowered product team. This will include rapid development of prototypes/concepts as well as regular product development to push mobile development at Volvo Cars to the next level. Your focus will be to enhance and innovate user services that comes as a part of driving an electric Volvo. You'll design and build applications for the Android platform and ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. You'll collaborate with other engineers (working on Android, iOS and backend) to define, design, and ship new features as well as fix bugs and help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
You and your skills
We are looking for a talented and passionate Android developer with knowledge and experience of Android and Kotlin. You are experienced with agile development and modern software tech company best practices. You know your way around Google's Android app design principles as well as the Android SDK and its key components. You have a passion for making delightful user experiences, for learning and for pushing barriers. You write readable, maintainable and testable code and have good knowledge of unit and integration testing techniques. Experience in Jetpack compose is also good. If you have experience in iOS or backend development, that's great, but it's not a requirement.
