Senior Application Engineer- PDM
At Research & Development you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. The department, Process CAD&PDM Development, works mainly with processes, methods and IT systems. We have the business responsibility for a number of large IT systems e.g. Konstruktions Data Personvagnar (KDP), Teamcenter and CATIA. We develop and own concepts, processes and methods for 'Mechanical development' and 'Product Structure and Release'. We lead and participate in Operational development projects concerning these knowledge areas as well as external communication, planning and issue management.
The group, Process Data Management (PDM) Development. We have the responsibility to maintain and develop the main PDM applications KDP and Teamcenter. We work both with minor improvements in smaller teams as well as with larger projects in more extensive project organisations. Our main projects, recently started as pre-studies, strive to implement the next generations of PDM tools. We are committed to support the Product Development process with efficient IT solutions and instant access to Product data of high quality.
As Senior Application Engineer, you will be able to play a key role in developing continuous improvements in the Product structure and Product definition area, supported by the KDP application. The future challenges in the KDP-area are immense driven by requirements on more product complexity, increased globalisation and higher attention to management of software embedded in our products. You will also participate in or lead Operational Development projects within the PDM area, especially focused on the management of information related to software in the products. * Point out strategic directions for the PDM area
* Specify and prioritise requirements, process and IT
* Implement new processes and IT-solutions
* Gain understanding of development needs from the car programs
Required qualifications
* Bachelor of Science or equivalent
* Skills in KDP and/or other PDM systems
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Skills in Microsoft Office
* Experience of Product development within the automotive industry is meritorious
* Volvo Car Group car program experience is an advantage
* Experience from working with software vendors is meritorious
