Summary / Role Purpose
Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team and partner with our customers to engineer what's ahead, solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows. As a Senior Application Engineer, you will use advanced-level engineering knowledge to address tangible challenges, seamlessly integrate custom Ansys software into customer design workflows, and help translate customer requirements into exciting new product features. You will be working within multi-disciplinary teams to advance your knowledge, experience, and business impact.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Apply advanced engineering expertise and knowledge of Fluid and Thermal Electronic Engineering to provide the highest level of technical support to customers, ensuring high-quality, timely customer service that results in improved customer satisfaction and productivity.
Own the customer problems, proactively engage with selected accounts to provide comprehensive solutions. Work independently and contribute to all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, interact with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering design workflows and articulate Ansys’ value proposition.
Provide intermediate and/or advanced training classes. Scope and deliver professional services for projects which may include collaborative work with other application engineers in the same or different disciplines.
Gather customer requirements to support the improvement of Ansys software and collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into new product capabilities. Test new releases on industrial problems.
Participates in internal corporate initiatives to share knowledge and to create best practices, both within and outside of the disciplines.


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
Required education and degree type: MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering environment: BS+5, MS+3.
Education and/or industrial experience related to fluid mechanics and computational fluid dynamics.
Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.
Experience with or specialization in the electronics Industry segment.
Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, possesses a sense of urgency.
Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency.
Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed.
Expert knowledge of heat transfer and thermal management for electronic cooling applications
Ability to travel up to 25% of time.
Fluent in speaking and writing Swedish and English.


Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge of software development concepts such as agile, continuous deliver and continuous integration.
Working knowledge of a high-level scripting language such as Python, Matlab, Julia, Javascript, ...
Experience with Ansys Fluent/Ansys Icepak/Ansys Mechanical is a plus.
Experience with application of CFD simulation for package, board, system level modelling is a plus.
Experience with multiphysics (e.g., Electro-Thermal, Thermo-Mechanical) aspects of electronics design is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and translate these into an execution plan that delivers value and meets business goals.
Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives.
Other EU language desirable.
