Senior Back-End Developer

Senior Back-End Developer

Arbetsbeskrivning

Since you’ve landed on this page, you already know Hedvig is a mover and shaker in insurtech, and think you might have what it takes to join us. As the only loved insurance company in Sweden (in the world?), we’ve proven that it’s possible to disrupt an entire industry with people’s best interest at heart. But our journey is just beginning.

tl;dr:

• Help us change the insurance industry for the better
• Backend Tech stack: Kotlin, Java, Spring[boot], PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, AWS
• Autonomous teams guided by KPIs and OKRs
• A company culture based on trust and helping people
• Recently closed $45 million in Series-B funding

But our journey is just beginning. Our record payout time is less than 200 seconds from claim submission, no wonder 8% of new insurance sign ups in Sweden are with us! After closing $45 million in Series-B funding, we are the insure-tech company with both an EU license and the capital to be an actual insurer, not just a broker. With huge demand comes huge hiring plans. We’re hiring a Senior Backend Developer who wants to innovate and integrate payments and products for our Members in need across Europe.

Currently, we are hiring for a backend developer in the following teams:

• The Partnership Integration team is responsible for driving the purchase experience for partners.
• Internal Product is helping to improve the experience for our internal teams.
• Payments provide reliable and scalable payment products that fuel our growth.
• Insurance Product folks build the products enabling Hedvig to scale our insurance offering.

What about the role?
As a backend developer, you will work with a senior, international team to build our event-driven microservices. Right now, we’re focusing on scalability, low latency, and high availability.

Some of the tools and frameworks we use in the backend teams:
• Kotlin & Java
• Spring & SpringBoot
• Axon (Event-sourcing framework)
• PostgreSQL
• Kubernetes
• AWS

The other teams use:
• React
• Swift
• TypeScript
What about us?
As part of the Hedvig team, you quickly notice that "general truths" are not accepted without being questioned. We're an enthusiastic group of people who love to challenge each other to find the best way forward. We don't care who says something; we care about what's being said. We put a lot of effort into building a trusting culture where freedom, collective thinking, and individual ownership have center stage. We're not perfect–far from it – but we talk about and learn from our mistakes and imperfections to improve continuously. And we have a lot of fun along the way! As individuals, as a team, and as a company.
We encourage remote excellence and our team is based in Stockholm. We have a hybrid setup and can help you with visa sponsorship.
Sounds like your next challenge? You can start by sending us an application. If you don't feel ready maybe you want to know more about us? Then check out our LinkedIn page where we regularly post inspiring thoughts from our people, and also our Career page where we (try to) share our values💫 If you have questions regarding the position, please feel free to write to careers@hedvig.com.
