This role is within our Add-ons Product Area, with the responsibility including but not limited to designing, building and maintaining partner insurance APIs, collaborating with other relevant teams and stakeholder to deliver a seamless and reliable insurance experience.
The team is located in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Lund, Sweden, and we also have teams in the US. Many of the people you will be working with have experience from start-ups and global tech companies such as Spotify, Google, Ericsson, Microsoft, Klarna and King.
We are now looking for a senior backend developer with experience in Java (preferred). You will be working with a group of skilled mobile and backend engineers, currently engaged in agile product development focusing on supporting and managing the lifecycle of insurance for new and old customers to the experience of owning a Volvo.
This position offers possibilities to long-term development within a continuously growing area that has a bright and exciting future ahead and where you have a direct influence on customer satisfaction.
What you’ll do
You will be innovating our customer experience with a focus on building backend services primarily using REST and GrapQL interfaces. It would be great if you happen to have experience building scalable 3rd party integrations too!
We use mainly Java and SpringBoot to setup backend services interfacing web frontends and iOS/Android apps. We use Grafana for our dashboards, and Jaeger for tracing. We deploy our applications in Kubernetes on Azure, using tools like ArgoCD and Github actions among other tools.
You will work together with quality engineers and mobile-developers as a part of a cross functional team.
What you’ll bring
We think you are an experienced backend engineer who’s worked on several products in the past. You should have senior expertise in Java and experience deploying in a Docker/Kubernetes/AWS or Azure setup. Our CI/CD is based on Github actions and ArgoCD. You should have a solid understanding of microservices.
Frontend know-how is a bonus.
To be successful in this role you need to take charge as well as being a team player.You should have the ability to drive and create commitment. It is important that you have integrity and a change management mind-set. Most importantly, we expect you to have a passion to learn and keep building on top of your current skill set.
