Assignment Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer with expertise in Node.js, Golang, and DevOps (CI/CD, Terraform, GCP) to join the Customer Returns team. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the development of a new modern solution that enhances customer satisfaction and simplifies the customer returns process for both customers and co-workers.
The project involves building a customer self-service returns system (parcel, express, and truck) and a co-worker returns management solution, while transitioning away from an old legacy system. Collaboration with multiple teams is crucial to achieve the project goals, and the team follows DevOps principles.
What you'll do:
· Develop backend components using JavaScript/Node.js and Golang to support the modern customer returns solution.
· Take ownership of the backend parts, ensuring their quality, reliability, and performance.
· Act as a senior/expert backend engineer, being a go-to person for backend-related tasks and providing mentorship to less experienced team members.
· Implement DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Terraform, and working with GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
· Drive knowledge sharing within the team, actively contributing to increasing skills in the CI/CD area.
· Identify pain points, propose improvements, and actively participate in enhancing team efficiency and productivity.
· Collaborate closely with other teams in the subdomain to streamline CI/CD principles and ensure effective communication and alignment.
· Embrace a culture of diversity, inclusion, psychological safety, and well-being within the Customer Returns team.
· Foster open and humble communication, actively supporting team members and practicing pair-programming when needed.
· Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in backend development and DevOps practices.
· Adhere to Agile and DevOps principles, promoting continuous integration, delivery, and improvement.
· Collaborate with stakeholders such as product owners, UX/UI designers, and frontend developers to ensure seamless integration and alignment of backend functionality within the overall solution.
· Demonstrate good communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Who you are:
· Strong proficiency in JavaScript/Node.js and Golang, with proven experience in developing backend solutions.
· Solid understanding of DevOps principles and hands-on experience with CI/CD, Terraform, and working with GCP.
· Self-driven and experienced as a senior/expert backend engineer, capable of taking ownership and providing mentorship.
· Open-minded, proactive, and willing to take responsibility for driving improvements and addressing pain points.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and supporting the growth of less experienced team members.
· Excellent communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
· Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
· Prior experience in the e-commerce domain or customer-facing solutions is a plus.
· Knowledge of frontend technologies and frameworks is advantageous but not mandatory.
