Digital Engineering is of increasing strategic importance for the Volvo Group. There are great expectations that it will make us work more global, more integrated and more efficient throughout the Volvo Group and Group Trucks Technology. Digital Engineering has the mission to improve R&D efficiency through optimal utilization of the right IT solutions. Within the VCP (Virtual Collaboration Platform) sub-technology we strive to develop, deliver and maintain tools and methods for hardware development and simulation. To provide the engineer with intuitive user experience and right information to enable efficient collaborative product development, fully utilizing virtual methods.


We are now looking for Senior Business Consultant to join our global team to support the VCP area, within the Develop Products department in this exiting journey. The position offers a stimulating and dynamic work environment, with a high-amount of interaction with colleagues throughout the Volvo Group on a global level and on-sites. The tasks span across the domains CAD & VPDM, Configuration, Simulation and PDM.


Main activities and responsibilities:
Successful applicants will have a broad understanding of usage of CAD & VPDM and PDM tools within product development in general and within the automotive industry in particular.
When working as a Senior Business Consultant at Group Truck Technology Digital Engineering you will have the task to drive innovation in the usage of tools related to the VCP platform, to reach higher user efficiency, data quality, etc. You will need to be able to handle a variety of activities within the domain, all the way from leading pre-studies to global deployments of solutions while managing customer expectations and interaction.


Some key tasks included in the position:
Investigate and conclude on business needs & requests.
Drive the brake down of needs into deliverables, with a strong focus on business value.
Manage the day to day activities to secure business value objectives of the delivery.
Secure that the deliverables are documented in the proper Volvo Group tools.
Lead change management activities to ensure successful deployment and rollout of new methods and IT solutions.
Secure that the latest functionalities available in the tools are utilized efficiently.
Secure re-use of industry best practices where applicable.



Competencies for the position:
University degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent
Experience from and knowledge of IT development in Process and IT projects.
Knowledge in the fundamental VCP tools (Windchill, CREO)
Knowledge of the Volvo PDM tools (KOLA, EDB)
Experience from working in an agile delivery organization
Minimum 5 years of experience within product/technology or IT development,
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
