Are you our future Senior Business Development Manager working within the Global Business Development team in Stockholm, Sweden?

Your position

On front line of the company you will be dedicated to creating a pipeline of integrated energy projects that use Azelio’s unique long-duration storage solution. The goal is to drive sustainable growth through boosting sales and forging strong client and partner relationships.

You as part of the global BD team will develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction by creating a pipeline of integrated energy projects in the C&I target markets, with focus on Latin America, USA, Sub-Saharan African, Australia and MENA regions together with our local sales representatives. The key segments you will be working on are mining, hotel resorts, agriculture, oil and gas, resilience and off-grid communities and the aim of your work is to develop and implement comprehensive business models together with financial and technical partners. Your position includes activities such as:

 

- Elaborating Azelio´s project development strategy and business models to ensure adherence to the relevant regulatory environment
- Analyzing and adapting our strategy to the particular conditions of the various target markets in the MENA, Sub-Saharan African, South American, Australian or North American regions
- Identifying financial and technical partners on the global and regional levels for co-development activities, setting up joint project development companies and SPVs, forming partnerships with EPCs and suppliers, etc.
- Scouting, screening and identifying new business ideas/opportunities and viable income streams
- Leading the development and evaluation of new opportunities/projects, as well as identifying and negotiating the acquisition of brownfield energy storage projects with adequate partners
- Ensuring that all project stakeholders are correctly managed, handling direct relationships where required, at multiple levels with key stakeholders
- Working with staff of involved technical departments throughout the organization
- Promoting the company’s products/services, while addressing and predicting clients’ objectives
- Identifying and selecting, as well as negotiating and working closely with, local representatives/ sales partners
- Preparing sales contracts that ensure adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
- Leading sales negotiations and efforts to price the product/service
- Keeping thorough records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
- Managing and supervising the transfer of projects post-sale to operations department
- Developing a good understanding of the company’s products and aftersales services, as well as the ability to advise customers and partners about them
- Working and coordinating with staff of technical departments throughout the organization to ensure that they are on board and understand what is required of them
- Training new members of your team, as well as arranging external training sessions as needed
- Leading project teams and supporting other BD mangers when requested by the BD director
- Leading promotional strategy and activities relevant to your area with the marketing department
- Attending and speaking at relevant seminars, conferences, and events
- Planning sales campaigns for your area
- Work with the Marketing Department to coordinate the communication and marketing strategies in the different target markets
- Assisting in department budget planning and objectives, as well as following up periodically
- Carrying out sales forecasts and analysis, as well as presenting your findings to senior management.

 

What we are looking for

You are an ambitious, energetic and dedicated Senior Business Development Manager with the following background and capabilities:

- Master’s degree in engineering, preferably also with education in business administration or equivalent and experience in working as a Business or project development manager in the energy sector for at least 7 years
- A solid understanding of the renewable energy and storage markets for segments like telecommunication/datacentres, agriculture, mining, resorts, communities or water treatment, as well as technology knowledge (solar, wind, storage and hybrid systems)
- Experience in project finance related to energy projects
- Experience working in at least one of Azelio’s target markets, i.e. MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Australia and North America, is important
- You have the ability to work independently, combined with strong teamwork skills.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to build comprehensive reports, presentations and models
- Strong social and networking skills
- Strong time management and planning skills
- Proficiency in English; mastering Spanish, French and/or Arabic is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for communicating with a wide range of people, both internally and externally
- Proficiency in MS Office
