Indirect Purchasing Departmebt (IDP) are responsible for sourcing of logistics, warehousing and packaging. Logistics at Volvo Car Group have been transformed completely the last couple of years and we are now going into the second phase to further improve our supply chain. We work closely with our stakeholders at MP&L, VCCS and Inbound Logstics to find the best solution for Volvo Car Group´s logistics needs. You will join a diverse team of eight skilled buyers in a dynamic environment where we have lots of challenges and opportunities. In terms of transport the team covers Air, Sea, Rail, Road and multimodal transports and you will be assigned certain categories from the portfolio. The buyer currently holding the position have been focusing on Rail as well as multimodal project transports.

As Senior Buyer - Logistics you will have a tactical and operational purchasing position with responsibility for procurement of logistic services. Your responsibility will be to identify, participate and lead specific sourcing- and continuous improvement initiatives, implement them and govern commercial relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Main responsibilities

* Reduce total cost of ownership
* Create and maintain commercial relations with suppliers and stakeholders
* Lead cross-functional sourcing projects
* Communicate with stakeholders, suppliers and purchasing colleagues
* Gather, structure and analyse data/information for purchasing initiatives
* Planning as well as reporting on status/results
* Implement and follow up on completed purchasing initiatives

Required qualifications

* B.Sc. degree or equivalent experience
* Experience from purchasing and/or project management
* 3 - 5 years' experience in relevant area
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Experience from logistics, packaging or other supply chain related services like freight forwarding is meritorious
* Experience from the automotive sector is meritorious
* M.Sc. degree in engineering, business or similar fields of study is meritorious
