Position Description
Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP) is the global group function covering the purchase of automotive products and parts including aftermarket, for all truck brands in Volvo Group Trucks.
CVD consists of three teams responsible for Vehicle Dynamics, Rubber & Cooling and Steering & Suspensions. We are a group of highly dedicated and skilled people located in France and Sweden.
Within the Vehicle Dynamics team, we are now looking for a Senior Buyer/Segment Leader for Brakes, Actuators, Friction Material , located in Lyon (France) or Gothenburg (Sweden).
Mission
The segment leader leads the strategic activities on his scope. He/She is responsible to have the global expertise on all QDCFTSR aspects and drive the consolidated business approach on his/her segments. He/She is responsible for the segment strategies, and shall ensure that they are maintained and implemented.
QDCFTSR: Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management
Responsibilities:
Own and develop and communicate the Segment Business Plan (SBP)
Consolidate Commodity and Project buyers input, and ensure cross functional alignment including other Business Areas when relevant
Accountable for the Segment Business Plan
Represent GTP and is Influent in System Component Teams (SCT) where applicable and delegated in alignment with Product System Roadmap (PSR)
Drive the commodity buyers network and stimulate the business knowledge within the team (best practices sharing, benchmarking, market knowledge, cost breakdowns, cost drivers, spend analysis, etc.)
Support Project & Commodity buyers in negotiations and supplier issues when several regions are involved.
Identify synergies with other Business Areas when relevant (in co-ordination with Supplier Host, when relevant)
Together with Innovative Purchasing bring supplier innovations on his/her segments within the Volvo Group
Find opportunities and align with buyers on Segment Commercial Performance.
Be the owner of the Segment Sourcing Planning in coordinating and bundling the on-going sourcing through the SBP.
Contribute to supplier strategy with the supplier host when relevant.
Qualifications:
University degree in Business, Engineering or related field and or equivalent experience
3-5 years’ experience in Purchasing and/or extensive negotiation experience with a supplier/customer relationship
Business acumen
Motivated by change management and ability to drive change
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Multicultural experience is an asset
