The department Propulsion Transmission System is working in order to develop innovative transmission systems and components solutions by having competent and committed engineers. The department is now facing an exciting future where the need for lower fuel consumption and premium attributes strongly pushes the development of the transmission systems. The Analysis & Verification section is responsible for almost all CAE-analysis and testing belonging to the transmission systems.

Propulsion Transmission CAE is one of the Analysis & Verification groups and we are a team of 15 persons. The group is responsible for the departments CAE, physical measurements and load data requirements setting for transmission systems. The group is an important part in a future towards CAE based verification with less physical testing in vehicles. An important area for CAE is to be tailoring in early conceptual phases in order to select the best concept and by parametric studies guide the design engineers.

As a Senior CAE Engineer, you are expected to take part in order to develop the area with new methods, tools and equipment as well as performing a wide range of analysis within different attribute areas.

Main responsibilities

* Plan, define and perform analysis of transmissions systems
* Cooperate with other internal CAE-teams at VCC and external suppliers
* Identify the need of measurements for validation and verification
* Cooperate with design engineers and project managers

Required qualifications

* M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in strength, durability and structural dynamics
* 10 years or more experience of structural and dynamic analysis
* Have skills in rough calculations by handbooks, pen and paper
* Experience of the CAE tools nCode, NASTRAN, ANSA and ABAQUS
* Interest in cars and transmission technology
* Experience of the CAE tools CATIA, FEM, ADAMS and MDO will be seen as meritorious
* Experience from transmission systems is meritorious
* A good experience in analysing traditional machine elements screw joints, splines, bearings, etc. will be seen as meritorious
* Fluent in English
