At Logistics Procurement we are now looking for a new member in our Finished Vehicles Logistics Team covering the procurement of finished vehicle transportation by Road, Rail & Ocean. This is a transforming and challenging area where you, together with a team located globally (Gothenburg, Charleston and Shanghai), and other stakeholders such Logistics and Commercial teams, can shape the future and contribute to a personal, greener, and safer mobility.

You will work in close cooperation with colleagues, internal stakeholders and external suppliers to secure delivery of our brand new cars – to the right cost, quality and service. What you will do
Your responsibility will be to lead sourcing initiatives and manage commercial relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. Your main focus will be intercontinental ocean transportation and/or EMEA land distribution. In this role you will be responsible for:

•    Lead and support cross-functional sourcing projects within the category including preparation, execution, analysis, negotiation, supplier selection and contract management
•    Develop and implement category and supplier strategies
•    Create and maintain commercial relations with suppliers and stakeholders
•    Work proactively with key business stakeholders to understand your product/service, its market, supply base and potential innovation to find ways to increase value for Volvo Cars - including cost, quality, and sustainability
•    Perform market analysis, prioritization, and identification of optimal negotiation tactics 
•    Requires ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding capacity to make data driven decisions or recommendation.
•    Experience with hands-on analysis and data interpretation; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites required
•    Dare to challenge status quo and work proactively to build better understanding and work towards ultimate solutions

Do you fit the profile?
We believe that the right candidate has a background within procurement or related supply chain services and, also experience within project management and successfully driving complex sourcing projects, preferably within the automotive industry. You have proven experience doing business in an international environment with global suppliers where strong business acumen is a prerequisite.
In this role there will be some need for global business travel and English is the primary language for written and spoken communication.

You lead your area with confidence and build strong collaborative relations by communicating effectively and easily gaining the trust of others. Complex and uncertain environments are something you thrive in, even when the way forward is unclear and under tough circumstances. As a person, you are self-driven with strong analytical and organizational skills and you have the ability to achieve results. You are used to prioritizing the needs of the business and your strong communication & stakeholder management skills is one of your best kept assets.
