What’s in it for you?

We are now looking for a Senior Category Buyer within the area “Casting”. A developing and challenging area where you together with a procurement team located globally, EU and China, together with stakeholders such as R&D, Strategy & Business, Manufacturing & Logistics, will contribute to create world class powertrain solutions.

As Senior Category Buyer, you will be a key member of the “Base Engine” team. Your main responsibility will be within category team; “Casting”. We collaborate in a global surrounding with major stakeholders such as R&D, SQM, Manufacturing Engineering, After Market etc. to manage sourcing activities, supplier- and market-spend analysis and contract management in the best possible way.

This role is critical for Volvo Cars & Aurobay to be the leader as a premium powertrain provider and you are expected to develop and deploy future strategies within the commodity, work proactively with your stakeholders to understand your product/service, its market, supply base and potential innovation to find ways to increase value for Volvo Cars - including cost, quality, and sustainability.

What you’ll do

Casting is a large commodity area, where you will be responsible for the complete supply chain and the strategy development for the complete business. You will conduct and lead new sourcing. You will insure implementation of contractual commercial reductions. Actively contribute to cost saving activities and lead negotiations for a more competitive and sustainable value chain.

You will work closely with both internal and external contacts at a global level. You will serve as leader of the “Global Sub Council”. Deliveries in accordance with procurement priorities, goals, and business plan. In your role you will lead negotiation of all kinds, including the category group to make the correct decisions and to be a support to operational buyers in the day-to-day operations.

Do you fit the profile?

We believe you have Business or Technical University degree, or equivalent and several years of experience of commercial work experience within in a large global company.
Customer/supplier contact is a common task and you are proficient in English, both spoken and written.

We think you have the ability to see the complete picture of a business case.
Supplier relations are important, where your excellent communication skills, is a great ability. Daily negotiation is also one of your strongest areas. 
To fit in this complex area, we believe you are commercial and result driven. You are motivated and creative in order to find new solutions and opportunities and dare to challenge the status quo.

You are a strong team player who is honest, with high integrity and actively work with self-development. We see that you have the ability to handle parallel projects, like challenges and are focused on setting and reaching goals.
