Powertrain Engineering Sweden (PES) are now looking for a Senior Category Buyer within the area Turbo/E-Chargers & EGR. A developing and challenging area where you together with a Procurement team located globally, EU and China, together with stakeholders such as R&D, Strategy & Business, Manufacturing & Logistics, will create world class powertrain solutions.

What will you do?

As Senior Category Buyer, you will be a key member of the “Dressed Engine - Boosting & Hot End” team. Your main responsibility will be within Turbo, Supercharger/E-Charger & EGR systems. We collaborate in a global surrounding with major stakeholders such as: R&D, SQM, Manufacturing, Strategy/Sales and After Market etc. to manage sourcing activities, supplier- and market-spend analysis and contract management in the best possible way.

This role is critical for PES to be the leader as a premium powertrain provider and you are expected to develop and deploy future strategies within the commodity, work proactively with your stakeholders to understand your product/service, its market, supply base and potential innovation to find ways to increase value for PES & Volvo Cars - including cost, quality, and sustainability.

You will conduct and lead new sourcing. You will insure implementation of contractual commercial reductions. Actively contribute to cost saving activities and lead negotiations for a more competitive and sustainable value chain.

In your role you will also lead negotiation of all kinds, to deliver in accordance with procurement priorities, goals, and business plan, including the category team to make the correct decisions and to be a support to operational buyers in the day-to-day operations.

Do you fit the profile?

We believe you have commercial or Technical master’s degree, you need to have several years of work experience within procurement in Automotive or Industrial Environment.

To fit in this complex area, we look for a person who is commercial and result driven. You are motivated and creative in order to find new solutions and opportunities and dare to challenge the status quo. You are a strong team player who are honest, with high integrity and actively work with self-development. You have the ability to handle parallel projects, like challenges and are focused on setting and reaching goals.

Customer/supplier contact is a common task and you are proficient in English, both spoken and written. You have the ability to see the whole picture of a business case. Supplier relations are very important, where your excellent communication skills, is a great ability. Negotiation is also one of your strongest areas.
