In this role, you have the opportunity to
develop and lead the clinical research at the Research Hub Philips is establishing at the Karolinska University Hospital. Philips has through a 14-year agreement with the Stockholm County Council the responsibility to deliver medical imaging equipment, e.g. CT and MR, with associated advanced visualization systems, to Nya Karolinska Solna, as well as to maintain its functionality over time. In addition, the agreement includes an Innovation partnership, which currently has three focus areas: Stroke, Prostate cancer and Minimally invasive surgery.
The Research Hub is a method of concentrating Philips scientific and technological resources with a clinical partner in order to create an in-depth strategic innovation partnership with research programs across the various businesses within Philips. The Research Hub competes for grants to support the research programs and BigMedilytics is one example in which both Karolinska and Philips participate to evaluate the usefulness of Big Data in medicine.
You are responsible for
Primary contact point for clinical and compliance aspect of projects within the focus areas
Responsible for compliance of projects at the research hub with applicable regulations and guidelines
Participate in the preparation, execution and reporting of the projects within the focus areas, including (co-)authoring peer-reviewed publications, intellectual property applications, ethical approval requests, and applications for external funding.
You are a part of
a Philips team based at Nya Karolinska Solna, involved in the Research Hub within the Philips Clinical Research Board (CRB). CRB is a corporate entity in Philips that is responsible for the coordination of large multi-modality research programs around the world. This organization has responsibility across the various Business Groups and Business Innovation Units within Philips and as a result manages and governs research relationships in e.g. Imaging Systems, Clinical Informatics and Monitoring. The CRB resides at the intersection of the individual Philips Businesses, Philips Research Labs, and the innovation partner. The global reach of the CRB group also permits connections with other research sites within and outside the company.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
PhD related to medical imaging and/or Medical Doctor
Experience from clinical research related to radiology and/or one of the focus areas
Experience from compliance aspects of clinical research
Excellent communication skills
Fluency in English and preferably Swedish language
