Senior Cloud Engineer

Senior Cloud Engineer

Arbetsbeskrivning

About the job
It’s an exciting time to join Nordic Semiconductor as we continue our rapid growth while perusing high ambitions with dedicated colleagues worldwide. For our Cellular Applications Team we are looking for a curious engineer with experience in building serverless cloud applications using TypeScript and Node.js. This team functions as an internal customer and is responsible for creating the first cellular IoT applications that run on and with our own hardware. As a Senior Cloud Engineer you are responsible for developing the solution these applications connect to on the cloud side.
Key responsibilities
Develop cloud solutions that a typical customer product can connect to (for example a parcel tracker, an energy meter, or a smart home gateway)
Contribute your knowledge to the open-source nRF Asset Tracker, which enables our customers to set up a real world IoT solution using the respective cloud provider and adapt the example firmware and software quickly for their specific use case
Work together with our firmware engineers to building up the internal knowledge about the respective cloud vendors’ idiomatic way to provide connectivity for IoT devices and contribute it to the open-source nRF Connect SDK for our embedded devices
Build small prototypes or demos (for example a LWM2M Gateway for AWS IoT), which explore how to optimize cloud services for ultra-low power IoT devices

Qualifications and skills
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
5+ years professional working experience as a cloud engineer (or equivalent)
Demonstratable proficiency in building cloud solutions, especially public-facing serverless microservices solutions using JavaScript
Experience with TypeScript and Node.js, CI/CD, BDD/TDD, Linux, Git, GitHub
The ability to navigate in a global matrix organization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Personal skills
We are looking for someone who likes to make technology more accessible, with a customer-focused mindset. We are presented with many interesting problems to work on a daily basis. Keeping the overview in a complex work environment should be natural to you. Finally, we expect you to be humble: you need to listen closely to what our customers need, our technology needs to fit into existing ecosystems, where we do not make the rules.
Working for Nordic
Working for Nordic Semiconductor, you will be challenged, inspired and supported. Our teams enjoy a professional and informal working environment. We value and encourage continuous development of skills and expertise to the highest levels. We are proud of our Norwegian heritage, our highly skilled international workforce, world-leading innovation and professional excellence. We offer a variety of tasks and projects and the possibility to work alongside some of the world’s leading experts within their field. We encourage our employees to challenge the established and dare to innovate, while expecting high performance, dedication and the will to learn.
