The Commercial Advisors offer their expertise to the business tech product organization and hubs in order to ensure that the expected business value is achieved at every stage of the product's life cycle. They assist by carefully analyzing business cases, implementing deals that align with business goals, and finding ways to improve and maintain relationships with external partners.
The Commercial Advisor demonstrates strong leadership abilities and is a proponent of a collaborative, transparent, safe, and trusting work environment that does not rely on strict hierarchy. You prioritize creating value, fostering growth, and providing excellent customer service while taking full responsibility and accountability for their actions. Ultimately, their goal is to achieve outstanding outcomes for both customers and the business.
Responsibilities
• Assist product leaders in developing and executing strategies for sales and partnerships.
• Engage in negotiations with external partners to secure favorable agreements.
• Evaluate and assess potential partners and collaborations that align with the product's objectives.
• Collaborate with product leaders to establish and ensure the viability of the business plan.
• Identify the best type of business partnership or cooperation that aligns with the specific needs of the business case.
• Set clear guidelines and strategies for managing the portfolio of partners and ensure their long-term management.
• Collaborate with partners and monitor their performance based on established framework, while evaluating potential risks and expected business results.
• Manage risks associated with partner and vendor contracts and agreements.
• Question and propose alternative ways of organizing business models and propose innovative approaches to contracts.
• Develop a strategy for negotiating and determine the most suitable process for reaching a deal.
• Identify potential deal structures that align with the objectives of the agreement, such as balancing risk aversion and creating flexibility.
• Oversee the necessary processes involved in making a deal, such as creating requests for proposals (RFPs), crafting tenders, and managing timelines.
• Ensure that all activities comply with the client's purchasing and consultant policies.
• Implement negotiations and ensure that the initial goals of a deal are met.
• Continually gather information about the product area by analyzing suppliers and the market.
• Monitor and take action based on spending analysis.
• Assist in establishing collaboration and oversight between product stakeholders, partners, and vendors.
• Handle the entire life cycle of contracts, including extensions, renegotiations, terminations, and call-offs.
Skills and Abilities
• Commercial skills and understanding of the cloud platforms and services like Azure and Google Cloud.
• Being skilled in analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and constructing business cases.
• Being able to think strategically and align business case objectives with actionable steps.
• Having the ability to solve problems and having a pragmatic approach.
• Possessing strong negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Capacity to influence and persuade others.
• Strong ability to communicate, including the skill to provide constructive challenges
• Ability to set plans and to bring others along.
• Being proactive in identifying opportunities and taking action to optimize them
• Being proactive in questioning.
• Focused on achieving desired outcomes, practical and effective.
• International deal making experience.
• Skilled in handling diverse deal arrangements and comprehending their complexities.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Having expertise in SAP's range of products is a significant benefit as well as having having cross-functional or interdisciplinary experience setting plans and bringing others along.
