The current limitations of Semiconductors in the world have created a need for a new way of thinking within the Electronics value chain. We are today working in close collaboration with our supplier base to secure the deliveries to the Volvo Groups customers. Long term the need of advanced electronics and thereby semiconductors will continue to grow in order to support the Volvo groups transformation journey. To meet the future needs we will challenge the current ways of working in order to build a resilient supply chain and capture innovations. You have the chance to be in the heart of this transformation journey in a very innovative and high focused area.


As a Senior Commodity Buyer for Semiconductors Electronics, you will be part of the Electronics team, however the scope of semiconductors spread into many different areas of our organization and your network will be extensive.
You will be accountable for the current business on semiconductors. The commodity buyer will crucial to maintain and develop the relationship with our supplier base as well as building business intelligence in semiconductor area. Your work will be key to build the future semiconductor strategy. You will work cross functionally and interact with all different level in the organization.


Core Responsibilities
Manage the current semiconductor business from QDCF-TSR point of view (QualityDeliveryCostFeatureTechnologySustainabilityRisk).
Identify micro and macro trends and transforming it to business intelligence for the organization.
Identify potential business opportunities and collaboration areas with our supplier base.
Contribute to the semiconductor purchasing strategy.
Build and maintain relationship with semiconductor vendor, distributor and sub tier level supplier.
Lead the development and deployment of mitigation processes to secure semiconductor supply chain resilience.
Managed synchronization with VOLVO group semiconductor network.
Together with cross functional team, develop semiconductor expertise in the VOLVO group.

Qualifications
Extensive purchasing experience, preferably in direct connection to semiconductors and/or the automotive industry
Problem solver with an agile way of working
Motivated by change management and ability to drive change
Strong communication skills from operational to executive level
Relationship and Network builder – internal and external
Fast learner – with a curious mindset
Business acumen and strategic mindset
Ability of being a strong team player in parallel of driving topics independently
University degree, preferably in engineering or business
