Senior Compliance Engineer – Emission Compliance

The department of Emission Compliance is now expanding and strengthening the team further by recruiting a Senior Compliance Engineer.
About us
The Emission Compliance department is responsible for securing compliance with emission regulations for Volvo Penta products globally. Emission Compliance handles everything from early involvement in the development of new regulations, through emission testing and certification as well as required certificate maintenance activities such as component updates, reporting and production testing. We have a broad contact network both internally, in the Volvo Group and externally.
Emission Compliance is part of Quality, Environment and Product Compliance.
Position description
Are you a structured, responsible, and driven engineer with experience from homologation or engine development work? Are you passionate about sustainability and environmental issues? Do you appreciate to work together with an engaged team of competent colleagues in a stimulating international environment? If so, you might be the one we are searching for!
As a Senior Compliance Engineer you will find yourself a key player in the process of securing emission compliance within Volvo Penta. The role includes general engineering knowledge of combustion engines, exhaust aftertreatment systems and measurements techniques, being able to read and interpret legislation, as well as being a guiding expert for the organization in compliance related issues. Ideally, you are person of various skills, including people skills.
Long term, typical tasks may involve:
Summarizing and interpreting legal requirements in a simplified manner
Being the “go to” person within Emission Compliance for complicated compliance questions/issues.
Supporting various other departments regarding emission compliance, e.g.:
Product Management with pre-studies requirements
Projects with development, verification and certification questions
Production with quality assurance questions
Supply chain with logistic questions
Sales with customer questions
Aftermarket with parts and replacement questions
Authority contacts and negotiations
Distribute deadlines and responsibilities
Continuous follow-up of progress
Depending on the candidate, we are short term prepared to offer a rotating working scheme where you will be introduced to several of our different areas of expertise within emission compliance and build up knowledge and understanding by performing work assignments. This is a great opportunity to get to know your new colleagues as well as fast track the knowledge build -up of our products, the legislations and the Penta organization needed to be successful in this role long term.
Desirable experience and qualifications
Master of Science degree or similar level of education.
Experience from engine development work.
Experience from regulatory work or emission certification of engines.
Fluent in English is a minimum. Other language skills are welcome.
Good communication skills, both in terms of reports, presentations and in discussions.
