As a Senior Concept and Design Engineer for Steering, you will be part of the Brake and Steering team under the Chassis HW department. The team consists of a great mix of skills and consists mainly of experienced engineers like yourself but also of some more junior engineers. All proud of their professionalism, self-going and creative.

In your role you will interact both with people in other parts of the organization and external parties like system suppliers. The role includes a broad scope of working tasks, everything from supplier and project meetings, defining concepts, analyze characteristics of the Steering system and discussion of future solutions. The work process includes the early concept phase to the finished product, and you will be involved in the whole journey! This requires great responsibility, and flexibility is the key to succeeding, as you will work with a lot of varying tasks.

This is what you will do most of the time, depending on the project phase:

- In collaboration with the surrounding systems develop concepts for steering components and visualize them in Catia.
- In collaboration with the surrounding systems secure sufficient packaging space for the steering system
- Throughout the different project phases accommodate requested changes from supplier, attribute or surrounding systems on the physical parts
- Setting up a product structure for each platform and project in Teamcenter
- Support the defined release plans
- Support project builds in the factories used (mostly in China) either remote or on site
- Support in supplier discussions regarding CAD topics

Your change management skills are vast and you have the ability to work in cross-functional teams. Cultural sensitivity and curiosity, especially Asian - European culture, are important to us.

You have probably this kind of background and qualifications:

- University degree in engineering
- At least 5 years’ experience of CAD development within the Automotive industry
- Experience from product data management tools like Teamcenter/PLM
- Fluent English in speech and writing
- Chassis experience preferably within the Steering area is a merit
- Experience in the CATIA Kinematics module is a merit
- Experience from pure electrical and electronical development is seen as a merit
- Chinese language is a merit
