External Description:
We are DICE, the award-winning studio based in Stockholm, Sweden, best known for creating the phenomenally successful Battlefield franchise, the Star Wars™: Battlefront franchise, and Mirror's Edge. Our people are the backbone and driving force to our creative products. That's why we're dedicated to providing everyone the chance to express themselves and be their very best as we all work towards a common cause.
We are looking for a passionate, structured weapons designer to work on the future of Battlefield. You will own and implement the direction for gunplay, balance and the hardware roster for a coming title.
Working focused on the core combat experience, you and your team will deliver weapons and gadgets to be used and shared between multiple experiences in the project.
You will also be part of improving the general shooting experience through pushing the boundaries of what First Person Shooters do - in both how weapons handle, how they are tuned, presented, behave and are networked.
In essence: You will have an opportunity to put your mark on the future of the franchise we love - and to be part of a wider group tasked with delivering the highest quality gameplay for our fans.
Previous franchise knowledge is a big plus, Frostbite implementation knowledge is a major bonus but not a necessity if equivalent technical experience in other engines exist.
You will report to the Design Director for Core (Combat, Weapons, Vehicles) and can either be on site at our studio in Stockholm, hybrid or remote.
Responsibilities:
Ownership of weapons & gadgets as part of the core group
Curation and selection of weapon & gadget hardware roster
Implementation of weapons, gadgets & connected systems configuration and improvements
Communication with key stakeholders (outside of team)
Qualifications:
4 years of game development experience

Design system documentation
Experience of visual scripting or equivalent text variants
Ability to clearly communicate and convey design
Great collaboration skills, across both local and remote teams
Be the champion for system improvements
Push boundaries through a passion for the subject
