About the role

As a Senior Cost Engineer, you will get the exciting opportunity to contribute with your technical skills at the forefront of technology. Product development and sourcing processes will keep your day busy. And with your analytical mind, you will dive deep into the overall financial constraints of supplier-related engineering to meet our technical requirements. You will also support process and policy improvement for systems acquisition practices related to the hardware development. With your passion for finance, you will calculate the cost of Hardware development for new truck projects. In other words, you will soon become an expert on cost target settings and activity-based cost breakdowns on hardware engineering based on technical regulations, functional descriptions, and testing requirements. Additional responsibilities:
With your understanding of the function for the entire Tier 1 delivery unit and on the detailed BOM, you will calculate key complexity cost drivers. You will be responsible for the Hardware engineering cost on components, and systems within the powertrain, chassis, cab interior/exterior. An additional competency is Energy and power systems, Comfort and Control, Infotainment, driver assistance, and autonomous driving. On an everyday basis, you will work with capturing the technical requirements related to Hardware engineering projects – both technically and financially. You will also be responsible for translating the technical requirements, Electric/ Electronic block diagram and the BOM of projects into an engineering cost calculation. Since you’re a true team player, you will also interact with the hardware and software team, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional peers to build up the development cost. As we said, this is a pretty exciting role, right?

Required qualifications:
A degree in Electronics/Mechanical engineering or a comparable degree.
Knowledge on understanding of Functional requirements at every stage of the project development.
Experience of hardware project delivery in an agile environment.
Several years of professional experience in cost calculation of hardware development work, preferably as a systems supplier.
Experience on cost calculation in relation to legal, customer and supplier specific testing.



Desired skills:
Knowledge on the functionality on electric/electronic components and control units.
Knowledge on platform-based development work.
Strong analytical background and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience on hardware engineering cost models and tools.
